The Niuji Mosque is considered the oldest mosque in Beijing. It was built in 996 AD during the reign of the Liao Dynasty, and it later underwent expansion operations to be able to accommodate a larger number of worshipers. Today, it is home to nearly 10,000 Muslims living in the area of the mosque. The architectural style inspired by the traditional Chinese culture, which appears clearly in its various parts, and tourists can visit it, whether to pray or learn about its history.
