The New Mosque is an Ottoman imperial mosque located in the Eminönü district of Istanbul, in the Golden Horn, at the southern end of the Galata Bridge. It was called the New Mosque, meaning that it was newer than Hagia Sophia (built in 537), the Blue Mosque (1616), and the Suleymaniye Mosque (1558). The mosque was distinguished by a unique design with its gilded decorations inside and the distinctive huge domes and minarets!
