Located in Kassel and overlooking Karslow Park, the new gallery is home to municipal and state art collections. From 19th-century Romantic landscape paintings to masterpieces of German Impressionism and works of contemporary art, the gallery invites visitors to join an exciting dialogue of the ages. One of the focus areas of the exhibition is the systematic acquisition of pieces of documentation art that has been in practice since 1982, using earmarked funds provided by the municipality of Kassel and the state of Hesse.
