The National Museum of Anthropology, formerly the Museum of the Filipino People, which houses anthropology and archeology, is located in Manila. It is a government-affiliated cultural, educational and scientific institution that acquires, documents and displays scholarly studies and public appreciation for artworks, specimens, and cultural and historical artifacts that represent the cultural heritage and natural history of the Filipino people. The museum includes many artifacts depicting the rise of the Filipino man to the current civilization, in terms of primitive ways of life to the weapons used in their wars, whether local or foreign.
