The Museum of Slavonia is the largest museum of a public type in Croatia. It was founded in 1877 in Osijek, and is located in the city’s judiciary building. It was built in 1702 for the purposes of the Vienna Chamber, city government and the police. Today, the building houses many collections, the most valuable of which is the Marina Collection. Roman and monetary collections, the Museum's library contains more than 70,000 books.
