The Royal Malaysian Customs Department Museum is one of the most interesting museums in Malacca. It is located in the heart of the city in an old customs warehouse on the bank of the Malacca River and next to the famous model ship Fleur de la Mar. The building itself dates back to the 1890s when it was used to store imported goods such as Rice, sugar, and textiles are pending identification and payment of customs duties, and it was converted into a museum in 2006, and includes a collection of distinctive exhibits such as uniforms, old and modern equipment used by the department, and historical photos of its employees.
