Information about Museu de la Nina
In the historic center of Castel d'Aro, we find the Museo de la Nina (Museum of Dolls), next to the Castle of Benidormiens, which includes a collection of more than 800 dolls. Through the different collections of dolls, which come from different parts of the world, the visitor can learn about how culture, way of life, and customs developed in different times and countries of the world. It is also a museum and shop, where you can buy these beautiful and varied dolls. Opened in 1997, the museum was created from an extensive collection of 400 dolls collected over a 30-year period, which were donated to the city of Josefina Teixido from around the world. The museum is divided into two floors, and the ground floor contains an extensive collection arranged according to the country of origin of each doll. Particularly remarkable is the variety of materials from which the dolls are made, as we find dolls made of porcelain, cardboard, stone, wood, straw, cloth, leather, ivory, or even coconut shell.
