This museum was established by royal order in 1844, as the Museum of Fine Arts moved to various buildings in the city until 1862. This building was built in the late sixteenth century, it was changed in the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, and the last change was in the twentieth century under Supervised by Enrique Romero de Torres, son and successor of Romero Barros, and since that time, the museum displays a selection of artworks. Cordovan art from the fifteenth to the twenty-first centuries is represented through the exhibition room , including oil paintings, statues and murals. The museum also hosts some temporary exhibitions, which include various drawings and prints from the museum's collection.
