The Museum of Folk Arts and Traditions is a museum that displays works of Algerian art. This palace was built around 1560-1570, and is located in the Lower Kasbah in Algiers on Mohamed Akli Malek Street, in a neighborhood that was called the Friday Market, in reference to the bird market that was organized every weekend. The museum preserves an important collection of antiques that are a link between the traditional industries of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and are a witness to the activities practiced by families who inherit the secret of this industry from generation to generation. These holdings include carpets, jewelry, pottery, fashion and Others, in addition to masterpieces bearing signatures of the greatest masters in the field of traditional industries, who left their mark in Algerian folk art.
