Jabal Al-Arbaeen, also known as Jabal Al-Tijrah or Qaruntal Mountain, is famous for being the mountain where Satan tried to tempt Jesus during his 40-day fast. It is located about 5 kilometers northwest of Jericho in the West Bank, and its peak is about 360 meters Above sea level, splendid panoramic views of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, Moab and Gilead Mountains can be reached, and the summit can be reached via a 30-minute trek down a steep path past the sloping Monastery of Qaruntal on a gravity-defying road or a 5-minute cable car ride from Jericho Hill.
