The Monkey House is located near the ethnographic complex of Samovodska Church, and was built in 1849 by Kolyo Ficheto for the famous merchant Nikola Koyuv, and although it was built on a very narrow plot of land, it includes everything It is necessary for the merchant’s activity, including warehouses, shops, and a residential section for his family, and like all houses in Veliko Tarnovo, this house is located on two streets, and on the front of the house there is a statue of a monkey sitting and under it a slate, hence the name of the house.
