Located inside the Citadel of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi in Cairo, the Muhammad Ali Mosque is also known as the "Alabaster Mosque", in reference to the marble panels on its interior and exterior walls. The mosque was distinguished by its architectural design in the style of Islamic architecture, and it includes a minaret that is the highest in all of Egypt, reaching a height of 84 meters, and limestone is the main building material for the mosque, and the plan of the square mosque consists of a central dome supported by four half-domes, with four additional domes. Smaller in the corners of the building, there are two minbars inside the mosque.
