The architect, Sinan, succeeded in bringing water to Istanbul from long distances and places. As a result of his achievement, Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent rewarded him by allowing him to put water in his house. After the death of the Sultan, he requested an official document from Sinan as evidence of his entitlement to this privilege. But the engineer was unable to produce the evidence, so the judge ordered that the water supply to his house be cut off. And this house remained standing as evidence of this historical story.
