Information about Masjid IJABA
The historic Al-Jaba Mosque is located to the north of the Noble Prophet’s Mosque. It was built by Banu Mu’awiyah bin Malik bin Auf Al-Ussun. It was named after the incident of the Prophet’s supplication, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, after he prayed in it and supplicated to God Almighty. God responded to him and prevented him from making only one supplication; It is also known as the Al-Mubahala Mosque, because it witnessed the meeting of the Prophet with a delegation of Christians from Najran. This mosque was renovated during the era of Omar bin Abdul Aziz, and was restored in the nineteenth century AD, then it was expanded during the reign of King Fahd, may God have mercy on him.
