Sultan Muhammad Tikrifan The Great Mosque, also known as the Islamic Center of the Maldives, is one of the most prominent architectural landmarks in the capital, Male, which was established in 1984 AD and is currently the largest mosque in the Maldives, in addition to being one of the largest mosques in South Asia. The mosque is distinguished by its contemporary architectural composition, where the spacious marble interior courtyards in which the ornate columns are distributed, and there are ceilings and domes decorated with gold inscriptions, and the foreign carpets have another story. Today, besides being the most important center of worship in the city, the mosque is one of the most important tourist attractions.
