Stockholm Maritime Museum, which collects, preserves, and displays materials relating to commercial shipping, shipbuilding, and maritime defence. The museum's activities include the revitalization of maritime heritage in multiple ways, the dissemination of knowledge about maritime history, through exhibition and educational activities, and the collection of maritime objects of historical value. Exhibits include ship interiors, navigational instruments, weapons, warheads, marlinspike, and art. It also preserves the original cabin and sunlit stern of the sailing ship Amphion, on which Gustav III planned his strikes against Russia during the 1788-1790 war.
