Malampuzha Dam is the largest dam and reservoir in Kerala, with a length of 1,849 square metres. The dam is located minutes away from the city of Palakkad, and it was built after independence from Madras state in an area filled with trees and dense forests. It is a historic dam that was established in 1955, and it has a capacity of approximately 8000 cubic meters of water. Locals and tourists come here for majestic views of the surrounding waters and forests.
