The Luxembourg Bridge extends from the south to the center of the upper city of Luxembourg, carrying traffic through the Petrus Valley and connecting Station Street to Franklin Delano Roosevelt Street. It is 290 meters long and 45 meters high and has 24 arches. Between 1859 and 1861 to connect the city center with the new railway station in Luxembourg which was located far from the city center so as not to detract from the defensive capabilities of the city castle.
