The Castle of the Holy Spirit is a noteworthy historical monument in Luxembourg. It was established as a monastery in 1234 on the square of the same name. Its military and strategic position was recognized during the first Spanish domination, but its final form dates back to the period between 1685 and 1687 when Vauban expanded the site of the fortress and strengthened its defensive walls and fortresses.
