Lake Sarnen occupies 7.5 square kilometers in the canton of Obwalden, making it the largest lake in the region. At 469 meters above sea level, it is fed by Gros Melcha, Drewesserkanal and Sarner A, the latter of which flows out of the lake at the northern end near Sarnen before flowing into Lake Alpenach at the exit of the valley. On the banks of this lake there are many places suitable for camping, hiking, relaxing and watching the surrounding landscapes, so do not miss it.
