You can learn the story of the monastery at the Visitor Center, and find out more about what life was like for the Cistercian monks who lived here nearly 400 years ago. Enjoy the atmosphere of the abbey gardens by the Ayer River where you can walk along the river or enjoy a picnic in the spacious grounds - there is also a small playground near the car park for the little ones to enjoy.
