Information about Karaman Fortress
It is believed that the Kerman Citadel was built in the late eleventh and early twelfth centuries, as it consisted of three overlapping walls, which were called the outer, middle, and inner castles. The inner castle is based on traces from the Bronze Age, the Roman and Byzantine periods. It consists of nine towers, four of which are round, and five of which have four facades. The Ottomans also repaired the inner castle in 1465, and the inscriptions, and the remaining architectural parts of the buildings that were destroyed, were used in the construction of the walls of the castle structure when it was restored.
