Located in the heart of Opatija, in the immediate vicinity of the sea and next to the Church of St. Jacob, Juraj Spürer Art Pavilion was built during Austrian rule at the beginning of the 19th and 20th centuries in the original ecclesiastical area, which with the development of Opatija was redeveloped for tourist purposes. Originally a pastry shop, the building was renovated in 1959, 1964, 1984 and 2003, and today it is one of the most attractive art galleries in the Adriatic, hosting various exhibitions, concerts, theater performances and other important cultural events in the city.
