Many locals and foreign tourists are keen to visit Jomon Sooji, as it is a large forest and garden that houses a giant Japanese cypress tree whose age ranges between 2000 and 7200 years (according to scientists’ estimation), which means that it is one of the oldest trees in Japan, with a height of up to 25 meters, with a root diameter of about 5 meters, and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
