This Jewish Museum in Thessaloniki was established to honor the rich Sephardic heritage that developed in the city of Thessaloniki. On the ground level are huge stones and inscriptions that were found in the Great Jewish Cemetery, which is located to the east of the city walls. These stones are accompanied by a series of photographs showing the cemetery and visitors as it was in 1914. On the first floor of the museum displays the history of the Jewish presence in Thessaloniki from the 19th century III BC until World War II. The museum also provides special educational programs for schools.
