The Church and Convent of Saint Jerome is located near the Tagus River in the Diocese of Belém, in the municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. It was secularized in 1833 AD, by state decree, and its property was transferred to the charitable foundation, Real Casa Pia in Lisbon. The monastery is one of the most prominent examples of the Portuguese Gothic architectural style in Lisbon. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the nearby Belem Tower in 1983. The church enjoys its majestic architectural character, and its large size; Which makes it the focus of attention of many tourists from all over the world.
