A garden built at the time of the Portuguese World Exposition (1940), an event commemorating the 800th anniversary of Portugal's independence. The park consists of about 30 small parks representing the capitals in Portugal and the former provinces abroad. There are also two lakes in this garden, as well as a collection of luxurious sculptures of legendary figures. In the vicinity of the park there is a monastery, a cultural center, a recreation center, a planetarium, a Naval Museum, and many more that make it a great destination for exploring Portugal.
