The history of the establishment of this public park, or municipal park in the old city district, dates back to 1948, and is considered the oldest green space in Oran, occupying an area of ten hectares. The municipality of Oran's green spaces include many landscaping works, including the re-design of the artificial lake, which enhances existing plants, such as ficus benjamina and pine. This is a green area that witnesses a large influx of visitors from inside and outside the province of Oran, due to its beauty and splendor.
