The Yamaya Church may have existed in the 13th century, but today nothing remains of this ancient building. The present historic church was founded in the second half of the 19th century, and what makes this church special is its proximity to the sea. The cemetery of Jamaya is located a little further from the church and practically on the beach, and it is the closest cemetery to the sea in Estonia.
