The Izmir Mask Museum, in a historical building built according to Levantine culture, was opened in 2011 as the first mask museum in Turkey. The museum contains a large collection of more than 300 items in five different categories, ritual masks, theater masks, Anatolian masks, death masks and vassals. Mask workshops are organized in the museum, which enable children and young people to express themselves through art and develop their skills.
