The Melawati Palace or Astana Melawati is the second palace of His Majesty the King in Putrajaya, its construction began in 1999 and was completed in 2002, and this palace is characterized by the concept of "resort", and is located at the highest peak in the Federal Territory of Putrajaya at an altitude of 125 meters above sea level, Through it almost the entire Putrajaya region can be seen, and it is also used in ceremonies for the awarding of the Order of Merit, stars and medals from the Federal Territory, the Armed Forces of Malaysia (ATM), the Royal Police of Malaysia (PDRM), the Royal Scout Medal, public meetings, closed meetings and meeting places of heads of government and states chaired by the King himself .
