The Independence Museum is located near the State Hospital, and was built in 1903 AD. Spread over a very large area, the museum, which is characterized by the fusion of European-style palace architecture and the traditional style of Urfa house, consists of smoothly cut stone structures in the harem and salamlik sections, and traces of artillery shells and gunshots from those days can be seen on its walls. The weapons and equipment used in the enemy's occupation of Şanlıurfa are displayed in the museum, and mummified carvings of 12 people who started the movement to liberate Şanlıurfa from the enemy's occupation are displayed.
