King David II established Inchcolm Monastery in 1140 to fulfill the dream of his brother Alexander the Great to establish a monastery on this island, in which he took shelter during a severe storm that confronted him. This monastery includes a group of monastic buildings that have been preserved to this day. It also has a great location that allows you to see it from the boat before you reach the island.
