This monastery was initially built on the basis that it was a prison for San Bernardo, and it had to be demolished due to the devastation that had befallen it from the earthquake since the beginning of the seventeenth century, but records show that in 1726 AD the new building was financed to become a hospital, and Over the years, it underwent many repairs and was later assigned to other uses until 1846 when it was converted into the Abbey of St. Bernard as it exists today. It is a church with a wonderful architecture, beautiful design on the outside and it is decorated with wood on the inside. It is an important tourist destination as many tourists from all over the world visit it.
