Hearst Castle is located within the New Forest National Park, a defensive fortress established by Henry VIII between 1541 and 1544 to protect the Solent, and Charles I was imprisoned in it in 1648 before being tried and executed in London, and it was renovated during the Napoleonic Wars and once Another was in the 1870s when its massive armored wings were added making it the largest coastal fortress in the world.
