Built in the thirteenth century, Hotel Le Vergeur Museum was then an aristocratic residence located in an area inhabited by wealthy merchants. In the 16th century, the hotel was owned by Nicolas Le Vergeur, who transformed it and gave it the characteristics of a private chateau with interior facades arranged around a private courtyard. Later, Hugos Krafft returned from his travels around the world distinctive pieces, clothing and photographic plates to form an important ethnographic collection in the hotel, and upon his death, his collections, as well as his furniture and paintings, his library and archives became a museum that is enriched every year thanks to the generosity of many donors.
