Information about Holy Name Cathedral
Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago is the seat of the Archdiocese of Chicago, one of the largest Roman Catholic dioceses in the United States. The Cathedral of the Holy Name was built in the Gothic architectural style, while at the same time incorporating modern symbolic decorations, it is also distinguished by its stained glass windows, and artistic sculptures distributed throughout. The church building is 71 meters long, 38 meters wide, and can accommodate 1,110 people. During renovations, a fire in 2009 caused extensive damage to the church's ceiling and interior, but the damage was repaired, and the cathedral reopened later that year, remaining one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the area.
