The Historical Museum is located in the heart of Mulhouse in the Old Town Hall, which was built in 1552; It is one of the richest museums in the region. This museum is a testament to the city's development, with its interiors and costumes giving an opportunity to learn about the way of life in Mulhouse and the region, as well as displaying many artefacts that shed light on the life and social organization of the local people from the 16th to the 18th centuries.
