The architecture of Erzurum houses is classified as a completely climate-dependent traditional building type, which is the product of the city's rich geography, historical and cultural environment, especially the life, climate and building materials that have influenced the design of the houses. These houses have a special architecture, the house is made of two floors, the ground floor is the main living area, and on the first floor there is an open winter room for the Tanour house where the women live and cook in an open and sunny place.
