Information about Erzurum Caferiye Mosque
Erzurum Jafari Mosque is located on Al-Jumhuriya Street. It was built in 1645 AD by Hacı Cafer, to be the first mosque in that region. Its three hidden domes were revealed under a sloping roof supported by four columns, open from the front and sides. The interior of the mosque, covered with a single dome resting on squinches in the corners, is mirrored from the outside by an octagonal three-stage roller. Today, the mosque is one of the most important religious monuments that characterize the city of Erzurum.
