Osnabrück City Hall is considered one of the most important historical buildings in the city. It is a historical building built in the style of late Gothic architecture. Its construction dates back to 1512 AD. It has an elegant and luxurious interior design that resembles the decor of royal palaces. The hall is of particular historical importance to the Germans as it was where the Peace of Westphalia between Osnabrück and Münster was negotiated and signed by fighters of the Thirty Years' War.
