This impressive dam used to supply water and electricity to all of Egypt, an engineering feat dating back to the 1960s. It is an example of Egyptian modernity, containing 18 times the amount of materials used in the Great Pyramid of Khufu, and it created Lake Nasser, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world.
