This museum is a one-of-a-kind example of a modest Georgian country house that has been completely renovated. The building was the home of astronomer and musician William Herschel and his sister Caroline and the museum celebrates its astronomical holidays. The museum includes particularly exceptional features as Herschel's workshop, his music room, and a charming formal garden from the 18th century where Herschel discovered the planet Uranus in 1781 with a telescope built by him, and there is an introductory video that lets visitors know about the importance of this special museum.
