Harbiye Military Museum is a museum located in the Harbiye district of Istanbul, and it is affiliated with the Department of Culture and Arts. The Harbiye district derives its name from the use of the service buildings in the Military Museum as a military academy in the last periods of the Ottoman Empire. The founder of the Republic, the great leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, also graduated from this school. The museum collects and classifies artifacts within the scope of military cultural assets, preserves, restores and displays these materials by contemporary methods, and stores them for transmission to future generations.
