The Haji Bektash Complex is an Alevi cultural monument in the Republic of Turkey, built in the thirteenth century in the form of a darija of the posthumous Sufi saint Haji Bektash Veli. The monument was distinguished by its distinctive and delicate stone design. Today, hundreds of thousands of Alevis, Bektas, and even Sunni Muslims from Turkey, Albania and the Turkish diaspora in Europe and around the world visit the Haji Bektas Veli complex, and major festivals are held here every August. In 2012, the Haji Bektas Veli complex became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
