The Great Mosque of Kairouan, also known as the Uqba Ibn Nafie Mosque, is one of the important examples in the world of Islamic architecture in the city of Kairouan, Tunisia. About a small mosque whose ceilings rest on direct columns, and it has been renovated and restored to become today one of the largest mosques in the city, with an architectural design that includes decorations and muqarnas, columns with ornate capitals and a huge external prayer court, in which feast prayers and rain prayers are held.
