The Dubai Grand Mosque is one of the most famous places of worship in Dubai. It is located in the heritage district. It can accommodate 1,200 worshipers. It also has the tallest minaret in Dubai, measuring 70 meters and resembling a lighthouse. The building has a rich history. It was once a madrasa or "kuttab" dedicated to the study of the Qur'an, and in 1960, a new mosque was built, and rebuilt again in 1998 to emulate the original architecture. Tourists come to this landmark today to enjoy the amazing architecture of the mosque, which was built in the traditional Islamic style, and to take pictures of it at night when it is amazingly lit.
