Rotunda Park is a garden with terraces located near the historical center of Padua, behind a wall built in the sixteenth century and the Rampart of the {at. The name is associated with an episode that occurred during the 1509 siege of German King Maximilian I during the War of the League of Cambrai. According to legend, a live cat was pelted to frighten the enemy with its screams. A statue of a cat hanging from its place was placed on the outside of the tower facing Codalunga Street in order to celebrate this event, as well as to symbolize the freedom of the people of Padua.
