The Gergeti Trinity Church is said to be one of the most beautiful and distinguished churches in the world. It is located on the top of a mountain near Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) in the Greater Caucasus Mountains at an altitude of 2170 meters above sea level. It was built in the fourteenth century, and became a national symbol of Georgia and its most popular tourist destination, it is the only cross-domed church in the province of Khevi, surrounded by high mountains and rich nature on all sides, giving it a unique splendor.
