George Town is the only city in Malaysia with a majority Chinese population. It is the capital of the Malaysian state of Penang and is located in the northeastern corner of Penang Island. It is dotted with many distinctive Chinese shops, narrow roads, old mansions from the colonial era, clan houses, many ornate temples and small Indian neighborhoods It is also famous for its distinctive natural features such as beaches, forests and lakes.
